It`s a Cute Confiserie

I was feeling inspired to do a little decorating in my office. However I am the kind of the designer that believes the small touches are what makes the scene.  So while traveling the internet I bumped into the Graphics Fairy, who kindly  made a fantastic  tutorial on how to make a cake pedestal.
I had to do it. Hers had a beautiful ballerina. I really like mine simple, no extra embellishments other than the glitter. And after cutting the Papier-mâché box to do the cake stand it needed a bit of something to hide the frayed edges.

Glitter was the magic potion!

Even the picture frames got painted. I wish I would have had pink, but aqua was all I had!

La Mode Noevelle

Imagine a time when the name Chanel was virtually unknown. When the name Dior wasn`t a synonym of class. A few years shy of the New Look. The dawn of the French Couture age created some of the most timeless dresses and fashions. However, this fantastic growth and fashion would take a small, imposed break.

The magazine source I have used is from March 1939. In September 1939, World War II broke out with the invasion of Poland. Couture fashions would have to wait until after 1945 to see some of their fashions mavens be reborn again.
